A major kitchen renovation can cost a lot of money. So how can you make your current kitchen more appealing to prospective buyers with kitchen staging tips without spending a whole ton of cash? Maybe paint rather than replace cabinets, or change up your flooring in an inexpensive way? A clean, fresh, bright kitchen that makes the most of the space will help to attract buyers and doesn’t need to cost a fortune!

Here are our kitchen staging tips for preparing your home for sale…

Have your kitchen professionally cleaned

Having a professional cleaner thoroughly clean your kitchen (and the rest of your home for that matter) is one of the best investments you can make when preparing your home to sell. A sparkling-clean kitchen is one that looks (and often smells!) its best.

Consider a paint job

Aside from cleaning, painting will really freshen up and transform your kitchen for relatively little cash. Give your kitchen a new coat of paint in a shade that works with the colour of your work surfaces and cabinets, and when in doubt, go with bright white. Even if your kitchen was recently painted, take a close look at the walls and ceiling and touch up any imperfections- it’s amazing how quickly kitchens can get grubby!

Clean those windows!

Clean the kitchen windows, inside and out. If you have heavy window coverings, consider getting rid, or at least make sure they’re completely open when you have people in for viewings. You want as much natural light as possible.

Clear the work surfaces & declutter

You want it to look as if you have acres of space for preparing food and enjoying your kitchen space, so ideally leave out the bare minimum eg toaster and kettle. Also, give your cupboards a good organise and declutter too, as you’ll be amazed how many viewers have a look inside to see how your kitchen operates!

Bring in fresh flowers

Sounds cheesy but it definitely helps! You don’t need to spend a fortune, but a nice vase of flowers gives the impression of a looked-after home and vendors who care about the space, plus they can smell great. Worth the effort in our opinion.
