Back in June we were delighted to announce that we have partnered with Hayes Secondary School for their exciting ‘Girls in Sport’ project that begins this month, coinciding with the start of a new school year. Having successfully sponsored the school’s basketball programme previously, we were excited to invest in the school’s new initiative, with the aim being that over the coming academic year that they are able to double the range of sporting opportunities for their girls.

Well, we have a fantastic update from the school to kick off the start of the project: the school has announced that thanks to our funding, they have managed to secure 2 coaches to deliver U15 and U18 girls rugby, an outstanding netball coach, and are in the latter stages of securing a top gymnastics coach, bringing the total number of sporting clubs available at the school to 37!

Joe Healey, Director of Sport, Partnership and Enrichment at Hayes School says:

“Five months ago we secured some funding to support a targeted programme based around sport. We felt that due to the pandemic our young ladies needed a range of new sporting activities to boost confidence, health and well-being. We asked for further support from our local community and we are delighted that Bromley Property Company are able to help. We are now in a position where for the first time we can offer new sports such as Cheerleading, Girls Basketball and Fitness using an outstanding personal trainer.  Bromley Property have done so much to give Hayes School girls a fantastic array of sporting opportunities for the short term and the future”

Lewis McKale, Director at Bromley Property Company, is looking forward to seeing the girls’ sporting confidence develop over the coming year:

“We are thrilled to be involved in supporting this wonderful project and we can’t wait to see how the school progresses with its fantastic ideas and plans to improve the opportunities for the girls at Hayes School”.

We look forward to sharing more about the different sporting clubs for the girls at Hayes over the coming year, their progress, as well as what sport means to them. Watch this space!
